Subscriptions Eating up Processor and Memory Cooper

sql server reporting services: Is anyone using alot of subscriptions? Currently I just 10 subscriptions
made, all of which generate .pdf's and either email the pdf or stick it out
on a file share. I scheduled some of these subscriptions to run every hour(as
a test). It seems that the subscriptions dramatically effect the performance
of the report server.

Has anyone experienced anythig like this or is anyone using subsciptions to
a large degree. Currently what subscriptions I do have are knocking my
processor utilization up 99% and locking up the machine until they are done.

Any ideas on how to optimize this or what its limitations are? I am trying
to not web farm if I can help it.

My guess is that it is not the subscriptions but the rendering to pdf. What
happens when you just run the same report (rendering to pdf)?

Also, do you have multiple processors? How much RAM. It seems like you
should be able to stay away from a web farm. Perhaps more RAM would help.
