I have an image configured as "embedding" in my report, when I use
http://<servername>/reports to view the report, the images did not show up,
but if I use the http://<servername>/reportserver to view the report, the
images show up...
Why?

More on this issue: none of the chart show up when I try to look at them
through the reportmanager, but they all look fine through the reportserver.

have you control the web.config file ? and other config files under the
reports folder ?
there is an option about the URL of reportserver
verify if you use the same URL as your directreportserver access.

Thank you for your reply. But, I don't get it. Would you give more detail?
THere are so many config files, which one I need to modify in order to let
the user seeing images and charts through the reportManager? They have no
problem to see them through the reportserver.

I had a similiar issue with charts not showing up and drilling not working.
It worked prior to the SP1. I found that Internet Explorer was blocking
cookies from the web site. Once I allowed the cookies from the report
server, both worked fine. Hopefully this solution will also work for your
problem.

The problem is not the Cookies, in the SP1 of Reporting Services the issue
can't be resolved, if you test the reports of SQL Server BPA the Images don't
functionally correctly.
