sql server reporting services:
We have a licensed version of SQL server and have built
reports in .net using the report designer.

Our end product shippped to the customer will include
some of these reports. Our client will need a stand alone
SQL Services Report Designer so they may develop reports
at there convenience.

When will Microsoft ship a stand alone report designer
for SQL Reporting Services?

For now, you need to have Visual Studio for the designer to plug into. It
can be any version of Visual Studio so I believe you can get vb.net for
$100.
The following was from the public beta newsgroup for Yukon:

However, SQL Server 2005 will ship with a free VS shell so you will not
need to buy VS beforehand.

So for Yukon you will save the $100 needed to purchase Visual Studion.

Cameron,

You may want to try also third-party tools, such as the Cizer Report Builder
(http://www.cizer.com/PortalCSVS/DesktopDefault.aspx?tabindex=1&tabid=11)

Hope this helps.
