sql server reporting services:
I have created my own SRS DPE. When I run the Report
Wizard and step through the pages to the "Design Query"
page, the "Edit..." button is not enabled (and thus I can
not get to my Query Designer Control).

Did you add a matching <Designer> entry to the RSReportDesigner.config file?

e.g.

<Designer>
<Extension Name="MyDPE" Type="MyClass,MyAssembly"/>
</Designer>

Thanks Brian,

Yes, there are corresponding entries for Data & Designer.

A related question. When I bring up the Shared DataSource
Wizard, I get a connection string "edit" button. On MS
SQL, this brings up the DataLink dialog. With my custom
DPE the button (surprisingly) is enabled but doesn't do
