Hello,
I have a small problem with the web interface that users go to check out the
reports.

Here is what i see when i go to a directory :

Friday, November 26, 2004 8:39 AM 2473 Report1
Friday, November 26, 2004 8:42 AM <ds> DataSource1

Problem is that when a user clicks on the datasource "DataSource1" the
username gets displayed. Should i adjust the permissions manually for eash
datasource so that it's not available to the users ?

Can the same thing happen with the xml source of reports ? I wouldn't want
the users to see the SQL code in the reports they user...

First of all; It appears that you are navigating thru the webservice not the
report manager. Your users would use the url: http://localhost/reports and
not http://localhost/reportserver

When you set up the Report Manager (localhost/reports) as an Administrator
you can manage who can see what based on their windows auth. This includes
datasource files , reports and folders. The end user should never see the
underlying xml for either the datasource or for the RDL (Report)

Hope this helps

I am not using the webservice, i do not know how to use the .asmx webservice
other than thru visual studio...

I am using the http://localhost/reports interface. The user wouldn't be
able to obtain the xml source thru this interface, right ?

sorry for all the confusion, i'm confused myself ...

Normally, user unable to see this because of 'Manage data sources' role
