Where do most people install SQL Server Reporting Services? On the SQL

this depends on your budget and expected performance.
I recommand to install RS on the web server if you can pay for it.
This allow you to support more users and to not share the server ressources
with SQL Server.

Depends on the number of users. You can always start on the same box and
then move it. Note that you have to have a license for any box with RS
installed on it.

I have a departmental app running on the same box as a datamart and it has
worked great.

If you are just starting with RS I suggest going with RS 2005. I have been
impressed with both features and speed improvements. If you database is 2000
you can install RS 2005 and leave the database at 2000 (but still must
purchase the 2005 license).

Thanks for the info, I'll use the 2000 version. I would like to use the RS
2005 version but wouldn't be able to get my client to buy the license for SQL
Server 2005 when we aren't yet upgrading the database.
