Does the 2005 management studio work with SQL 2000 Reporting services or just

Also I forgot to mention that I lost all Business Intelligence options in SQL
Management Studio and VS.NET 2005 is there a way to get them back? Also,
recently I purchased a version of SQL 2005 for my work. From what I was
reading since I have a valid 2005 license even though I have not installed it
yet, I can upgrade to reporting services 2005 without changing the database
engine from SQL 2000...is this correct? I have some databases that I cannot
yet upgrade to 2005. Will reporting services 2005 report off of SQL 2000
databases also if I do not upgrade the database engine, can I still use the
ad-hoc reporting for some employees to design their own reports?

Hi,

Welcome to use MSDN Managed Newsgroup!

From your descriptions, I am not sure "work with SQL Server 2000 Reporting
Services" exactly. If you want to connect to SQL Server 2000 Reporting
Services via SQL Server Management Stuido directly, I am afraid it is not
possible to do so. You are required to upgrade SQL Server 2000 Reporting
Services to SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services first and then using SQL
Server 2005 components to do the connection / configuration.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation. If you have any questions or
concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. We are always here to be of
assistance!

Hi Nick,

What are the Business Intelligence options? Would you please clarify more?

[quoted text, click to view]

Yes, you could. It is no problem if you upgrade SQL Server 2000 Reporting
Services to SQL Server 2005 Reporting Services only and using SQL Server
2000 databases.
