sql server reporting services : Print scaling like Excel

Our company uses Excel heavily, like most other companies do. One of the
features that Excel does better than any other product is scale the output to
the printer automatically (option to "Fit to X pages wide by Y pages tall").

I haven't found an easy way to accomplish this in Reporting Services.
Because RS uses things like Matrix regions that grow dynamically, sometimes
you can't anticipate the final paper size of the output, but you can be sure
users will try to print. And now that SP2 includes the client-side print
functionality, users instinctively see the printer icon, and click it, only
to get a simple dialog to send directly to the printer with no control on the
output, except what was set by the report developer in the Report Properties
for paper size.

I also do not know if there is an option for overriding the pagination for
the HTML output vs. paper size, but when I view my report online in HTML,
even without explicit page breaks, RS cuts the report into 2 pages on screen.
This is fine when it is printed on paper, but users do not need to go to
page two if they can simply scroll down while viewing.

Thanks

I am having the exact same problem....

I thought The "fit" option may exist in SQL 2005? If not, I wonder if
there are any third party apps that can help?
