SQL 2005 Report Builder Permissions issue

SQL 2005 Report Builder Permissions issue Michael Morisoli

sql server reporting services:
I have created a report model and published it to our SSRS server. When
administrators use Report Builder to build and run reports everything is
fine, but the normal users are encountering a runtime error when they try to
run a report they are designing. The error is "The permissions granted to
user 'CATSOLNS\<ntname>' are insufficient for performing this operation.
(rsAccessDenied)"

These users have been granted "Browser, My Reports, Report Builder"
permissions.

What is odd is they can create reports and save them to the server but they
can not run them.

Any clues?

Or better yet are there any good documents that discuss how security works
with SSRS and Report Builder.

Thanks, Mike

Hi:

Did you ever fig out what was wrong? I have the same problem even as an
admin. Also on the report server I did check "execute report definitions" on
system user. So I am able to see report builde ron the report manager, but
not able to deploy models from the designer.

Got it. Had to check everything on the "contenet manager" role. Everything
wasnt checked by default.

Thanks
