sql server reporting services: Hi All,
am I missing something? I have finally got the eval version of 2005
working with reports services and dundas charts (by the way they look
great and work well for the people who were interested)...but it looks
like the piece of the beta that would actually compile custom
assemblies is gone???

I have a custom assembly that compiled ok in the beta but I don't seem
to be able to open it or compile it with just sql server 2005....Id
vs.net a 'must have' for compiling custom assemblied for report
services in the RTM version? Or, like I said, am I just missing
something...

Thanks

RS 2005 ships with a version of VS just for the designer. If that is what
you are using then you do not have stand alone VB.Net or C#. If you want
that (to create your own custom assemblies) then you need VB.Net (or
whatever you are writing your assembly in).

Hi All,
just in case there is anyone else here like me....hanging out for the
vs.net 2005 eval edition to get sql server 2005 eval working with
vs.net and waiting.......well, today, out of frustration more than
anything else....I tried a custom assembly compiled under vs.net 2003
on sql server 2005.....and much to my surprise it worked just fine
first time.....

I really kicked myself because I spent quite a bit of time trying to
get dundas chart, sql server 2005 and my new versions of my custom
assembly working since I threw away my beta copy of sql server and put
the eval 'real' version onto my laptop.....such is life!!!
