sql server reporting services: Anyone that says it can does not know what they are talking about. For this
version you have to have Reporting Services server and the server requires
SQL Server. Now, SQL Server does not have to be on the same box, it can
reside on another box but SQL Server is used by Reporting Services and is a
requirement.

Version 2 will have some webform and winform controls. These controls will
use RS if present but can work without it. If this is the case, though, then
you don't have Report Manager (i.e. you have to create your own web pages to
get parameters and call the reports).

Hi,

I wanna know if it's possible to deploy reports to a production environment
where sql server is completely not needed? Maybe only some reporting service
components that can be installed for the report generation?

I know this question has been asked before, but I just can't find a
definitive answer. Some say it can, others say it can't.
