When exporting a report to Excel 2003 my calculated field exports as "Number
Stored as Text" is there a way to set these to export to Excel as Numbers?

Hi Glen,

Thanks for your posting!

From your descriptions, I understood that you would like to save calculated
field as number in Excel. Have I understood you? Correct me if I was wrong.

Based on my knowledge, I am afraid there is temporarily no such setting we
could configure in Reporting Services.

However, I find you may convert it in the Excel. Check the article below
and let me know whether it works for you

Michael,

That is what we are currently doing...however it would be much better if RS
would export it as numbers. We will hard code the calculation into SQL this
should fix our problem.

Thanks
Glen

Hi Glen,

I do understand that this behavior will have much impact on your business
and I would love to do some further survey to see whether there is anything
I could offer more.

I generate a sample Report with calculated field , however, I was not able
to reproduce it on my side. The data was rendered as number instead of Text
in XLS file.

Would you please show me a sample with SQL Server default data source so
that I could make further research on it? More information, I believe, will
make us closer to the resolution.

Thank you for your patience and corporation. If you have any questions or
concerns, don't hesitate to let me know. We are always here to be of
assistance!

Michael,

The data is coming from Great Plains 7.5...would posting the RDL file help
you look into this?

Thanks
Glen
