REPOST: I posted this a while ago and no one responded...I still can't
get it to work so I thought I'd try again. Thanks in advance!

Hey,

I've got the following folder structure that I'm working with.

\Transaction Reports
\Application 1 (contains reports linked from Transaction Reports)
\Application 2 (contains reports linked from Transaction Reports)

I built some standard reports that are used by each application
(filtered by applicationId). The reports link to subreports in their
respective folders (most of the time), for example, if application 1
is viewing a list of transactions, they click on the id of one
transaction are able to view the details in another report in the same
folder.

Users of each applications reports don't have access to the
Transaction Reports folder.

The problem I'm having is when a user filters the results of the
transaction report (the one in the example) by any of the parameters,
when they try to view the details of one of the filtered transactions,
it tries to link them to the sub-report in the Transaction Reports
folder - where they don't have permissions. Like I said, this only
happens when they filter the results - it works fine normally.

Any suggestions???!?!?!?!

Thanks!! Brian

Hmmm.... I don't get it. You write, "it tries to link them to the
sub-report in the Transaction Reports folder - where they don't have
permissions". What is "it"? Code you wrote? A link you put in a report?
If they don't have permissions, how is that weird? If they are being
directed to something that they don't have permissions to, then there's a
gap in what you're telling us.

"it" is the report top level report - think order/order details - "it"
is the orders report (list of orders) where an order would be selected
(clicked - set up using the 'jump to report' feature) at which point
the user would be taken to the corresponding details report.

as I mentioned before, there is a folder containing the "shared"
reports and separate folders for each company that might have orders.
each company folder contains linked reports from the shared folder.
the linked reports use different default parameters to restrict what
the user can see.

the issue is when a company user, accessing the orders report in their
companys folder, filters the report (by date, or something like that)
when they click the link to view the details of an order, reporting
services directs them to the base folder containing the non-linked
reports where none of the users have permissions. when the user does
not filter the orders report and then selects to view the details for a
particular order, they are directed to the linked report in their
companys folder - where they do have permissions and where they are
able to view the reports.

sorry for the confusion...any suggestions?

thanks, brian
