sql server reporting services:
I am new to Reporting Services. When I publish report to
the Reporting Server, I find that there are a number of
configurations.

The current one is Active(Debug) and there are some others
like production ....

I would like to know what are configuration in RS ? Can
we only publish report to the Reporting Server for the
active configuration only ?

Configurations are really just a way of identifying where you are deploying
to. You can create a configuration called anything you like. It comes with
several pre-defined but they are just a name and need to be configured with
the server information. Let's say I had three. I have one locally, I have a
QA one and I have a production server. Whichever one you pick is the one you
are currently deploying to. So I deploy locally and test out and when I am
ready I change the configuration to the QA configuration and deploy to that
one.
