sql server reporting services:
I create an snapshot programmatically with default paramters for a report
which takes 2 minutes to run.the snapshot takes the same time and the only
things the snapshot dose it that it dosen't let me change the
parameters. They are all grayed out.Is that what it should be?

Thanks

The snapshot stores the data as you selected the parameter, therefore you
can´t do any parameter changing after the snapshot is taken. You can do a
snapshot for another parameter, but thats all. Its like you make a copy of a
filled form, then later change something on the original form and ask "Why
doesn´t that change on the copy ?!"). Snapshot are taken in our projects if
the query method takes too long to wait for the user (complcated procedures,
AS400 access, whereas the whole table is pulled to the SQL Server ....)

Thanks for the reply.
Actually my problem is that rendering the snapshot report and the live
report both take same amount of time.I don;t care about the
paramter.Paramteres are fine and ofcourse they should be grayed out ,but my
question was why it takes that much long,if it snapshots the data based on
the paramters?

Thanks again
