understand that we still can't print from the Winforms platform/environment
directly to a printer, it MUST go through a web page and then from a web page

That is the case today. Note that the integration story with Winforms with
this first version is weak. This gets much stronger with the release of
Widbey (VS 2005 in November) which will ship with a winform control.

Does the printer rendering extension sample allow you to render directly to
a printer?.... I haven't messed with this yet, but that;s what I thought it
does...
