sql server reporting services:
The scenario is: image UNC paths are stored in the DB; I call a report code
function that receives the Field.ImagePath and returns a binary array
(Byte()). This works in designer but access via Report Manager or
http::\\MyServer\Report Server yields the notorious redX.

Hi,

To me this looks like an access related problem. You can check your IIS
settings and log for information on which user is used to access the UNC path.

Hope this would help.

Thanks for the input. The server where the images are stored is configured
for "Everyone" read, execute and list rights. I also ran rsconfig and
created an "Unattended Execution Account", restarted the RS Service but
still get the same results. Did not see any Event Log, or Report Server log
for the failed image access. Accessing the images using Windows Explorer
with the "Unattended Execution Account" works. Thanks again for your input,
though.
