sql server reporting services:
I would like to create a "generic" version of a report, that is fully
parameterized, and make specialized versions of that report (with "canned"
parameters and default values) that merely calls to that generic report.

Is this possible?

Yes it is possible

use the Subreport control from the Toolbox
