sql server reporting services: I am installing SP2 on a web farm. When I originally installed
Reporting services I pointed the database to a separate server. Now
when installing the SP the database didn't get updated with the SP and
I can't get the SP to run on the server with the database. The error I
get basically says that the application to be patched cannot be found.
Is there a way to upgrade just the database? Is there a way to run the
SP on the server with just the database? Is there documentation on
this?

Some help would be much appreciated.

Hi

Did you follow the instructions in the RS 2000 SP2 readme file
(sp2Readme_EN.html) under the section
"3.3 Installing SP2 on a Report Server Web Farm" ?

Yes, the instructions say "you must run SP2 Setup on each computer that
hosts a reporting services component". However when I try to run SP2 on
the database server I get an error in the logs that says that the patch
cannot run because there is no application to patch.

Never mind...as it would turn out the instructions aren't really
accurate. The database did upgrade, but I never found a way to find out
what the database version should be. The database was patched...I
didn't need to run the patch on the database like the instructions
said.
