sql server reporting services:
I have created a report that has optional (sometimes hidden) elements

I then put this report as a subreport in another.

When the subreport's elements are hidden, the size of the subreport in the
main report doesn't adjust accordingly. Yet the elements of the subreport
move up to take up the space of the missing element.

It seems that it won't reduce the size of the subreport on the main report
smaller than the stated body height in the subreport's definition. This is
inconsistent with the way the body will grow if you have a table or a list.

So the net effect, is that if the elements are visible there is no
whitespace after the subreport, but if some are hidden, the others scrunch
up, and the space that the hidden ones would have taken up is left at the
bottom of the main report, under the subreport.

Hi,

I know the answer is late but in case for somebody else, on the report I put
height of the line to 0cm and I create a small function in the subreport if
they have some rows I set the height to ...cm

Best Regards

Lino
