Fireevent fails - Insufficient Permissions

sql server reporting services: When attempting to call the Fireevent method of the reporting service I get
"The
permissions granted to user 'xxxx' are insufficient for performing this
operation."

The user in question has the following roles on the folder where the
subscriptions and reports exist: "Browser, Content Manager, Manage all
subscriptions, Publisher".

I am using the eventtype of "TimedSubscription" and a valid subscription id
from list subscriptions as the eventdata.

By default, no one can generate events. You need to modify a role (or
create a new one) and grant the 'Generate events' taks.
