Trouble installing SP1 and SP2 Joe

sql server reporting services: I'm trying to install the Reporting Services service pack SP1 but the install
shield just hangs - after a couple of hours I've had to cancel the install.
Has anyone else experienced a problem with SP1 install. I've installed many
times before on different machines without a problem, I don't know why
suddenly SP1 install is a problem. I tried also the command line install but
this did not work. This is also happening with SP2 (on the same machine -

I later added logging , the SP1 install gets as far as ServiceControl W3SV2
and then nothing - everything stops. Everything is out of the box as far as
configuration settings go. I'm running on Windows XP Professional.

Install gets this far and then nothing...

Please can someone help.

OK - I found the answer. I went into Administrative tools, Services and took
a look at the World Wide Wed Publishing Service dependencies. On this
particular machine there was a dependancy to an application called NovaView
Intelligence Server. I changed that service to manual load, tried the install
again and hey presto... (it worked).
