sql server reporting services: I have Reporting Services on my personal laptop with XP SP2, MS Visual Studio
..Net, and SQL Server 2000.

I can start a report project, connect to server, connect to database, when
it come to previewing the report in the designer, I get one of two messages:
Unable to connect to datasource
OR
this version of MS Visual Studion only connects to Access database or SQL
server desktop engine with this version of visual studio.

any ideas?

I'm having the same type of problem. I can run the query from the Data tab,
work on the Layout tab, but if I go to Preview, it gives me the error:

"An error has occurred during report processing. Cannot create a connection
to data source 'msdb'. Login failed for user 'sa'.'

Were you able to fix your problem? If so, what did you have to do?
