sql server reporting services:
Hi all,
I just did a new install of SSRS 200f on a Win 2003 sp1. The database is on
another Win 2003 machine the Reporting Server Service is on the machine I am
having a problem with. We are running SSL port 443 and I set up the Report
Server Virtual directory appropriately for that. The Virtual Directories
were set up to run under a different app pool other than defaultapppool.
This is so that we can run the ASP .Net as 2.0. The app pool used for this
is running as Network Service. The SSRS 2005 Service is running as local
system.

Here is the problem. Everything seems to be running fine except for the
SSRS 2005 Report Manager. The toolbar just below the two tabs <Contents,
Properties> does not respond to any mouse click events. When I cllick on any
other control on the management page everything works fine, i.e. one of the
tabs.

Any thoughts on how to fix this.

FYi... I thought that having the SSRS 2005 Windows Service running as Local
System might have been the problem so I changed it to run as Network Service
account and then backed up the key. This did not make any difference to my
situation though.

Here’s the weird thing. I just tried running the Report Manager from my
machine and the Server Running the Database. Everything works fine except
from the server its installed on, WTF.

Ahh, key point of the puzzle. Windows 2003 server has many security type
(more with SP1?, not sure about that) issues when running from it. IE does
not act the same. You need to add the RS site to the appropriate zone, I
think there might be other things you have to do too.
