sql server reporting services:
Hello, and thank you for your generous time with my thread.

I'm using the SQLH2 tool to generate SQL Server health reports for my SQL
admin intranet site. I'm VERY pleased with this tool. I've been asked to
generate a new page similiar to the SQL Availability Report, but one that
shows total downtime for a given period, for the entire list of servers. I
had considered combining the two reports 'Inventory of Services By Server'
and 'SQL Server Availability'.

What is the best way to go about combining these two reports that were
generated by Microsoft? I tried to open the RDL file in VisStudio2k5, but it
just comes up as XML. Will I have to create an 'xml' type file manually, or
can I create a combination of these two reports graphically?

I tried to create a new report in Report Builder but it says 'No reports
models are available'. I tried to pull a report in using 'Open from Report
Server' and received the error: System.IO.StreamReader: The Report element
was not found.
I tried to generate at report model using the SQLH2 database datasource
within ReportServer and receive error:
An error occurred while generating model. (rsModelGenerationError) Get
Online Help An error occurred while executing a command. Message: Timeout
expired Command: SELECT COUNT([srv_id]), COUNT(DISTINCT [srv_id]) FROM
[dbo].[perf] t</end of error>

I found a tutorial for creating RDL files with .NET.. should I go through
this or am I making this far too complicated?

Has anyone ever generated their own reports for SQLH2?

Hello Shawn,

You could use the .NET to create the RDL file. The article you have find
the right place you could start.

From your scenario, I think you could consider the sub report when you
design the report.

Please note, Microsoft MSDN Managed Newsgroup does not provide support for
the Resource Kit Utilities.

Thank you for your understanding.
