sql server reporting services: I'm having problems with file attachments delivered by RS2000 hosted on
a W2003 server coming across corrupt. The SMTP server is a Lotus
Domino server. I've searched this and other forums to find no answer
on how (or if) this can be fixed. It seems there is a patch for
non-2003 servers, but nothing for my box. Has someone found an answer
for this?

Note: I can render and export the reports in any format successfully
via the report manager. I can email the resulting attachments through
the Notes server and detach/open them without issue.

Only when I schedule the report to be delivered does the file arrive
corrupt. And it is -->not<-- a 0 byte file - it contains data, though
garbage.

Thanks for any insight!!

Have you tried opening the email attachments from another email application
other than Notes?

I had an issue where we were experiencing corrupt attachments with only one
of our customers, (we are not using Notes as a mail server). They were using
an old mail program to read the subscription emails (GroupWise 5.5) and when
they opened the CSV attachments, they were all full of junk.

We were able to re-create the issue with some other older email
applications, and Microsoft found that the issue was related with the email
being sent with a CONTENT-TYPE as text/plain when it should have been
sending text/csv. Microsoft said that the problem would be fixed in the next
version of Reporting Services (not a Service Pack or hotfix, so probably in
SQL RS 2010), unless there was a big enough reason to fix it faster.

So if this sounds like what's happening to you, you might want to give
