Here is the best way to look at licensing. Reporting Services is part of SQL
Server. There is no separate licensing for Reporting Services. You will not
find any further description because all you need to do is look at SQL
Server licensing. This would be no different than installing Analysis
Services on a separate box. Or installing SQL Server DB on another box. The
best way to consider this is Office. Office is Word, Excel, etc etc. You pay
an Office license. That does not give you the right to install Word on one
PC and Excel on another and Access on a third. It gives you the right to
install any combination of the pieces of Office on one PC. It is no
different with SQL Server (the product). People think about SQL Server as
meaning the database product but if you go here:
http://www.microsoft.com/sql/prodinfo/overview/what-is-sql-server.mspx you will see that MS definition of SQL Server is the complete
platform:Reporting Services, Analysis Services, Integration Services,
Notification Services, Replication Services, Relation Database. You cannot
install any of these without a license.
