sql server reporting services:
Hello

I am very new to RS having just setup SQL2000 reporting services. I did a
couple of walk throughs and understand how to create a report to deploy on
the report manager.

But I am confused about what else I can do with RS. Can I create reports in
VStudio to print directly from a .Net client server application to a local
printer. These reports will all take parameters from the application. I
have been primarrily an Access programer which is quite a different world,
and I am trying to get my head around this..

Thanks Terry

Thanks Tim

I am using 2000 SP2 now. We are in a Small Business 2003 Prem environment
and we are waiting on SBS2003 R2 which will get us SQL2005, but we have a
purchased business app that is not ready for SQL2005 anyway so I will be
waiting a while.

I will dig into the docs and see if I can figure this out. I need a good
guide book like "SQLServer 2000 Reporting Services for the Perplexed"...

Terry

If you're doing 2000, not 2005, you need Service pack 2 to get printing
capabilities, otherwise export to PDF first.
