Chart Appearance SQL 2005 Reporting Services TomT

sql server reporting services:
I notice that the charts included in the reports run via Management Studio
(e.g. the Data Files Space Usage pie charts) look considerably better than
the ones I put in a Report Server report.

The charts I've used, e.g. an exploding pie (3d) look very jagged, including
all text, whereas in the SSMS reports, everything looks smooth and sharp.

I've looked for settings to improve the look of my reports' charts (e.g.
anti-aliasing settings), but have not found anything to improve their
appearance.

Hi tomt,

Thank you for using MSDN Managed Newsgroup Support.

You could configure the Chart's appearance of the 3D effect and whether
include the values of the data.

Here is the article for your reference.

Hope this will be helpful.

I think you have misunderstood. I have already set up the 3d chart along with
data, etc. My question was about the quality of it's appearance - it has
jagged edges, the text looks poorly rendered - in short, it looks nowhere
near as good as the charts inlcuded in SSMS's built in reports (i.e. the
charts).

It's the quality of visual appearance I am asking about

Hi tomt,

Thank you for making this issue clear.

Based on my scope, there is nothing to configure the visual appearance of
the chart type. If you have any concern of the text, I think you could
choose a proper Font Style of the text. As for the jagged edges, this is by
design.

Also, the Chart control used in Reporting Services is licensed from Dundas
Software.

You may visit their website to looking for whether there is more control
for you to choose.
