Hi moondaddy,

Thank you for using MSDN Managed Newsgroup Support.

Would you please check the output window in the VS2003 and post the result
here?

Also, I would like to know if you just build one report in the project,
does this issue appear?

You could build each report in the project seperatly to check which report
cause this build fail.

Sincerely yours,

Wei Lu

I just setup a new dev machine and am running sql 2k + ssrs, VS2003, sql 05+
ssrs and VS 2005. I hae a VS2003 SSRS Project and it builds fine on the old
PC. SSRS 2k appears to run fine on the new maching, but when I go into this
VS2003 project (it was copied from the old machine) and build it, the build
fails and I get no compile error or any kind of information telling my why
the build is failing. the reports seem to run OK. I deleted the data
source and recreated it with the correct references to sql server 2k on the
new machine (local).

How can I determin why the build is failing?

Thanks.

Wei Lu (and moondaddy):

I get the same error, which is to say, the VS build reports the
following:

Build complete -- 0 errors, 0 warnings

---------------------- Done ----------------------

Build: 0 succeeded, 1 failed, 0 skipped

NOTE: There is NOTHING in the tasks pane, in the application event log,
or in the build window. There is no indication of any kind what is
going wrong.

This now happens with every reporting services project, old and new,
with and without any report or data source, in all combinations
thereof.

There are at least two other posts I found about the same error. This
seems to be a relatively recent issue:
