Posted by Hans at 5/1/2006 10:26:47 PM
Hi,
I saw some threads about using parent-child dimensions in a reporting
services report on an OLAP cube in this newsgroup. I have the same problem

render it. I tried with the UniqueName and ParentUniqueName propertie... more >>
Updating UDM based Report Model without re-doing data source
Posted by bhorwatt at 5/1/2006 2:00:02 PM
I created a report model off of a UDM - which is very easy because the Report
Model itself is redundant when used for a UDM. After creating several report
builder reports off of the Model, I realized I had not formatted a measure as
currency in the UDM, so it wasn't showing up correctly in my... more >>

Rendering to Excel: numbers stored as text
Posted by mr_bert at 5/1/2006 12:55:02 PM
Some of my reports are rendering to Excel with numbers stored as text (the
little green triangle in the upper corner of each cell alerts the viewer of
the problem).
While this seems innocuous, it means that a user can't do typical Excel
operations, like highlighting cells and creating a gra... more >>
Q: General "should I use" questions regard Rep Services
Posted by Mark at 5/1/2006 11:51:02 AM
Hi,
We're looking at a few tools for web reporting such as Business Objects,
Crystal Report Net, Cognos 8BI. I was told SQL Server Reporting Services
(SRS) is a cheaper, but not as robust solution. However, it might be the

Green Bar
Posted by Joe L at 5/1/2006 10:00:22 AM
I see many people have documented how to do a green bar effect with
alternating rows. If the row number is even, color it green otherwise leave
it white. No problem.
Traditionally, green bar paper is 5 rows green / 5 rows white. It is easy
to visually see if a row is first, second, middl... more >>

I created a report and time based subscription. The report runs at the
