X509 certificate authentification for RS2005 - issues with "Report Builder" BB_Reporting

sql server reporting services:
Hi,

we have created a certificate (X509) based authentification as custom
security extension to RS 2000 as well as RS 2005, that is working very
we=B4ll including all Report Manager functionality.

Now MS has introduced the nice & fancy Report Builder, that is more or
less a black box & fat client application. In case you run the
application the application notifies, that the authentification was
sitched to customized and asks with a entry mask "MS Report Server
Login" for user name & pwd, which obviously doesnt exist .

Is there a work around to use our client certificate based extension
somehow with the report builder? Does anybody know about parameter list
or configuration scripts?

Any suggestions are welcome.

thanks a lot=20

we have found that for this to work. one the user has to have the System User
roll this will ensure that the button for Report builder show up.
Two. the user has to have been set up in the root directory with Report
builder group.
Then you can set the security up any way you need in other folders for the
user.

user or AD groups.
