sql server reporting services:
This morning, after booting up my dev box SSRS says it cannot connect to the
local machine when I click on it in Management Studio. Also can't deploy
reports. Reboot then it works. This has happened before.

Is there a reason for this erratic behavior?

Hi Gary,

Thank you for your posting!

The issue you meet most seems to be the Reporting Services does not start.

I think we could check the Reporting Services Error log and the System
Event log to see what happened.

By default, the Reporting Services log file is located at \Microsoft SQL
Server\<SQL Server Instance>\Reporting Services\LogFiles.

Please check the log file and you could post the useful information here
for troubleshooting. Thank you!

Sincerely yours,
