Does anyone know how to reference a subreport to find out if a field
within it has data, such as a ParentID field?

I seem to recall that you can't do this as the sub reports are rendered based
on information they receive from their parent report - and subsequently, the
information contained within in them, is unavailable until the particular
section of parent report has been rendered.

YOu may have to look into making it the one report (if possible - once i'd
moved from Crystal to RS, I've never had to use sub reports because of the
flexibility RS provides - particularly in the ability to reference multiple
datasets in the one report)
