sql server reporting services:
Reporting services when printing a multiple page doc on single sheets, the
first page prints correctly, but the pages after start printing too low. how
can i slove?

i found out the printer doc below:
------------------------------------------
When printing a multiple page document on single sheets, the first page
prints correctly, but the pages after start printing too low?

The difference in print position is usually caused by the page length
setting in the software application program. Most applications have a
default
page length of 66 lines per page when using 11" continuous paper. When using
single sheets, the printer automatically provides a small top and bottom
margin. Since the top and bottom margins are non-printable areas, the
maximum
number of lines per page is reduced from 66 to 61 lines per page. Many
applications have an option to change the number of lines per page. You
should change the number of lines per page to 61. If the program offers a
selection for "cut-sheet feeder," change the paper type to cut-sheet feeder.
-----------------------------------------
but it can't solve my problem at all.... every page move down 7mm! anyone
have exp. like this? please
help..

i am using epson LQ1170

On the Report Properties Layout tab make sure that you have set up the page
height and page width correctly. You may need to adjust the margins as well.

Then make sure that the width of the body of your report is less than:

Page Width - (Left Margin + Right Margin)

Thanks magendo_man, but it is not work..

I have try to setup as you suggest, but I just can fit perfectly on only
first page.

The first page size is 27.3cm (28cm - 7mm), and it will return to normal
(28cm) from page 2 onwards, Therefore, every page will move down 7mm unless
I change the page size to 27.3cm, then the first page will fit perfectly,
but it will move up 7mm on page 2 , 14mm (7mm*2) on page 3, 21mm (7mm*3) on
page 4 and so on .

so, that means i just can fit one page only. I think the problem is I have 2
different page size on one report:

the first page is: 27.3cm
2nd page or later 28.0cm

Can I set two page size on one report? Or it should have a more smart way to
solve?

Really thanks for your help.

Fung.

I don't understand how you can have two page sizes. What is the actual size
of the paper in your printer? Is it sheet feed (laser/inkjet) or continuous
paper (dot matrix)?

The page height you enter in Report Properties is the actual physical
dimension of the paper page.

I am using continuous paper (dot matrix), and my epson printer LQ1170 (seems
like all series of epson dot matrix printer) have the same probrem is "the
printer automatically provides a small top and bottom margin (7mm) on the
first page" and then, it will return to normal, so I got two page size here.

but i can't set the "line per page" in VS2005 or VS2003 if i set the actual
physical size, it will be only one page can fit.

i f i can set line per page, or have a option for the epson continuous
paper, or I can set one report two page size then I can solve my problem,
but now i donno how can i fix it.....
