Cannot Change Title of Report Explorer Web Part

sql server reporting services:

I am using the SQL Server Reporting Services - Report Explorer Web Part

in SharePoint Portal Server 2003 SP2. By default, the title is set to
"Report Explorer". When I modify the web part, I can change the title.

When I click Apply and OK the change appears on the web part but when
I exit edit mode, the change is not saved and the title reverts to
"Report Explorer". Does anybody know of a fix or a work-around for
this?

Do you have Admin rights on the site. I just went into my test environment
and changed my "Report Explorer" title to "This is a Test" and it worked fine
for me. I am an Admin on the machine and in SharePoint.

I first thought that it could possibly be because the Report Viewer webpart
is a consumer of the Report Explorer. And by pointing the Report Viewer at
the Report Consumer might "hard code" the title so the webparts can talk to
each other. But in my case my Report Explorer is now called "This is a Test"
and my viewer works just fine.

Sorry, I thought I could have been some help on this one.

Rob,
I have admin rights on the SharePoint site and on the machine but
still no luck. But thanks for the suggestion. I'm willing to try
anything. I'm really stumped.

The only other thing that I can think to try is to search for the .dwp file
for the Report Explorer on you server. Open it up with notepad and change
the title in there (that is where it is originally set). Then upload the new
changed .dwp file to your site.

You might want to give that a try.
