sql server reporting services:

Greetings!

I have two scenarios going on.

First (working as desired), I have a report that uses three groups and
when exported to Excel, it creates a file with the plus/minus
expandable groups to the left of the spreadsheet and displays all
levels.

Second (problematic), I have a report that uses five groups and when
exported shows only group 3 and group 5 without any expandable
groups.

I don't understand why all 5 group headers do not appear/repeat as
necessary nor do I understand why it does not render the expandable
groups.

What I can tell you is that the first report is a "new" report I
created and second report is one I inherited from another writer and
re-organized. I have compared the properties tab by tab, group by
group and have not found any noticable differences.

I'll gladly share any additional information

Thank you,
Joseph

I've since started copying objects over into a new report. (The
initial report I inherited was created in SRS2000 and am now using
SRS2005.) After merely copying everything over, the new version of
the problematic report will show all the groups in the exported Excel
version without the expandable grouping options enabled in the
workbook. It does export all the data from the highest level to the
details even when completely collapsed. If I take this approach,
seems the problem will be limited to producing the expandable groups
in the Excel version.

Thanks,
Joseph
