Without knowing more, I would suggest making sure that IIS is running on the box (via: right-clicking My Computer, select Manage, Services and Applications -> Internet Information Services). Also, check to make sure that the virtual directories (Reports and ReportServer) have been created (via: right-clicking My Computer, select Manage, Services and Applications -> Internet Information Services -> Web Sites -> Default Web Site -> Reports/ReportServer). Hope this helps. Regards, Enrique Martinez Sr. Software Consultant
I am trying to run main reporting services page at: http://compname/reports and I am not getting anything back. I have SQL 2005 Express version installed. I also have SQL Server Business Intelligence Development Studio installed. What is missed then on my system? Thanks
No, I dont have virtual directories there. If you can find Internet Information Services but not the virtual directories, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling SQL Server, etc. Regards, Enrique Martinez Sr. Software Consultant
oh, if you could find database "reportserver" in sql server 2005. that means report service has been installed.. check that iis and sql server and do net framwork 2.0 runs successful. use report server manager to rebind or rebuild the visual directory... it is in sql server manager tools shortcut. Yes, that's what I did. Is there a particular order of uninstalling parts of the product? During installation it does give a warning about IIS but IIS is running because http://locahost works fine. Not that I know of. Do you have IIS running on the machine? Also, you might want to check that all the SQL Server services are running (via right-clicking My Computer -> select Manage -> Services). Regards, Enrique Martinez Sr. Software Consultant
