Nobody has guts to confirm RSs are not working on Vista. Neither 2000, nor
2005.
What a company.

Mark, I have installed SQL Server Express Edition with Advanced Services SP2
on Windows Vista Home Premium and Windows Vista Business. This edition of
SQL Express contains SQL Server Reporting Services, which works just fine.
BTW, you cannot install SQL Server Reporting Services 2000 on a Vista machine
as on SQL Server 2005 is supported.

I worked around this by installing virtual PC and loading XP on it. Then
used it as my deploy area. Works great.

Mark, Vista Home Premium can run IIS. It is not installed automatically, you
need to install it. I am not sure about Vista Home Basic.

How did you install RS 2005 on Vista Home Edition when it does not have all
IIS components that the RS require?

Ditto....

Mark, as Joe said, you're best off creating a Virtual Machine (using
Virtual PC or VMWare) and installing something like Windows Server 2003
(or XP pro). That way, you can do a true server deployment.

I use Vista home Premium for my base host operating system, but I have
two different virtual machines using Win Server 2003, for both VS2005
stuff and the VS2008 beta stuff. Works great.
