implementing a read only farm

How does one go about implementing a read only farm from a client perspective ? I know i can replicate to these read only servers but how does one have the client redirect or round robin ? Harware or software ? Whats preffered ? What if one server is not up to date and needs to be pulled ...more >>

Apolgies if this seems obvious. I am using Visual Studio and experimenting with SQL server databases. I can connect to Northwind and Pubs (the samples) and do simple selections on them. hi all this is mahak garg. i have sql server 2005 express edition. but office xp and .net framework 2.0. is there any service pack to make the them compatible. the 2005 server doesnt allow many db features with this version . any solutions? ...more >>
