asp.net security : How do you encrypt machine.config (2.0)

I've tried every permutation of aspnet_regiis.exe -pe
"connectionStrings" -app "/MySite" -prov
"DataProtectionConfigurationProvider" -pkm to encrypt the connectionStrings
in my 2.0 machine.config (not web.config). I just get the help dump -- no
error message -- and the encryption does not work.

Has anyone gotten this to work? Thanks.

Hi Joel,
Please go to the following article and execute the orderly steps listed there:

http://channel9.msdn.com/wiki/default.aspx/Channel9.HowToEncryptConfigurationSectionsUsingRsaInAspNet20?diff=y

If then also the problem persists then do report it here. My initial
impression is that the Key Contianers might be missing, however i could be
wrong, so please report back.

regards,
Joy
