Does anyone have a good recommendation for an end user friendly rich text
control? The objective is to have the page creation experience much like
creating a document in Word with a very simple implementation of inserting
images and formatting text.

Hi Jack,

I suggest you search on internet to see if there's any commercial or free
controls could meet your requirement. Also, you might want to try ask in
http://forums.asp.net/69.aspx since it's dedicated for discussing third
party controls in ASP.NET. Thanks for your understanding.

In compliments to what Walter said, I'm sure most on the forums could attest
to various products they've used and like when it's not effective to create
their own.

From personal experience, I use Telerik's RAD Editor (http://www.telerik.com/products/aspnet/controls/editor/overview.aspx)
for various custom projects as well as the primary editing tools for our
CMS 2002 implementation. It works great, the overall controls are pretty
extensible, and they have a huge community backing.

Good luck!

I've outlined some decent free rich textbox controls here:
