dotnet component services : No Properties Menu in Component Services

I am trying to change permissions on "VB ASP Debugging" in Component
Services as described in KB article 259725. However, when I right-click it,
I don't get a Properties menu. Is this a permissions problem? I have tried
it using my account, which is a domain admin, and also using the local
Administrator account. I am using WinXP Pro SP2.

Suggestions? TIA

I had the same issue yesterday, but figured it out by reading the Help
section.
After SP2 it is completely different way to do it.
this is what to do:
Click the icon: 'Configure My Computer' in the menu bar , and then 'Edit
default' under 'Launch and
activation Permissions'

I saw your post and was able to get the debugging working. But not knowing
much about DCOM, I am concerned that giving Everyone access to ALL
applications, not just VB ASP Debugging, might pose a security risk. The
Component Services help still mentions being able to set
application-specific access permissions through the properties window. I
think there is still a problem causing the properties menu to be missing.

Hi Bob,

I'm having the same problem (properties menu missing from dcomcnfg), did you
ever resolve this?
