dotnet academic : moving 2003 from one computer to another

Hi,

I plan on installing my copy of VS.net 2003 I bought for school on my
present computer, but will need to move it soon, as I'm going to upgrade in
about a month. How does that work with the license and activation? Do I
need to emailMicrosoft and "deactivate" the original install, than activate
again?

TIA

Jim

I would attempt a new install and call them if it fails, if VS.NET has
activation. Apologies for not being well versed, but my copy is an MSDN
subscription copy, which has no activation key.

MS is good at working with people. NOTE: If there is an activation, check to
see how many days you have before you have to activate. You may wish to not
activate the first install if you are moving to another computer within that
time frame. It will bug you each time you start the program, but that is
minor compared to having to make a call when you are ready to move it.
