dotnet academic: I've installed Visual Studio and when I attempt to create
a VB .NET Windows application, I get the following error:
In a dialog box labelled "Microsoft Development
Environment", the error message is "The specified module
could not be found."

Has anyone else encountered this and do you know how to
fix it?

I know this is an old post but I am experiencing the exact same problem
I just installed Visual Studio .NET 2003 and am trying to start m
first project. As soon as I create the project i get the followin
message:

"The specified module could not be found."

I can't find anything in the help files, or on Microsoft KB site.
have done a repair on the installation, and reinstalled the studi
twice...Each time took nearly an hour and was no help. Any thought
would be greatly appreciated.

I recommend that you do a complete uninstall of both Visual Studio .NET 2003
and .NET Framework 1.1 (in that order) and then try a fresh install.

Did this fix your problem, I have the same issue
