Hello,
How do I add a component from the component gallery (if it exists in version
7.0!?) like we did in version 6.0?

Hello,

I would like to add a Flash Window when the application starts. It was
possible to do it in version 6.0.

Are you referring to: Tools->Add/Remove Toolbox Items...

which produces a tabbed dialog listing both .NET and COM components?

Yes of course. u can make splash sreen by add form (Project -> Add Form)
choose type of the form splash screen from the template box
