Managing many Students is not always a simple process. Is there a way to add
the Domain logged on user to the Local Debugging Users Group through a script
preferably Group Policty? The students may not always use the same computer

Is your department a member of the Microsoft Developers Network Academic
Alliance (MSDNAA)?
If so, ask your MSDNAA Administrator about the private MSDNAA newsgroups,
where you'll gain access to tech support targeted at just these sorts of
issues.
If you're not already a member, but are interested in MSDNAA, look here:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/academic/

I know what you want to do can be done, but as I'm not part of out
department's lab staff, I don't have the details.

I am truly hoping that there are others that might help me out. I am not the
Programmer but the support specialist taking care of this issue. The teacher
does not know of anything either. And no we are not a member of the MSDNAA.
If it is fee based it is truly out of the question. I will be looking
further in the membership though so all is not lost. I will also post the
question on the Policy settings newsgroups. Thanks

P.S. Love the Quote.

I have referred your query to a private newsgroup, and will post any
information provided here. Give me a couple of days.

The only response I've received, and confirmed with my lab support people as
their technique, is to add all eligible student ID's to both the Developer
Users and Debugger Users groups at domain level each semester. That way, a
given student can log on at any PC in the domain and use Visual Studio.
The respondent seemed a little confused by your reference to "through a
script preferably Group Policy?" and thinks that simply adding the students
to the above-mentioned groups will do the trick.

BTW, your comment on MSDNAA being "fee based" deserves a mini cost benefit
study. If the idea of paying $799 for the first year and $399 per year for
renewals is daunting, consider that you get access to almost every Microsoft
software product for use in your classrooms and labs, plus you can
distribute those products to your students as well. I have no idea how many
PC's and students you have, but even with relatively small numbers, the
benefits of MSDNAA vastly outweigh the costs.

Here is a second response that is along the same lines as the first.

I don't see why a script is needed. If there is a domain controller all that
is needed is to set up a AD group for VS.NET users and place each student in
that group. Then, on each computer in the domain you can add that group to
the local debugger users group. The way we do it is to have a group for each
course and the students for that course are placed into that AD group. We
can then give whatever privileges we want on a class by class basis.

Ah that is the great news I have been waiting for. I am supprised that I
didn't think of it. Oh well Thank you very much Peter you have been a great
big help. Also the licensing that we have on the software package does allow
us to do that for the students. I will be checking with what the Teacher
acutally bought.

Thank you again
