Microsoft has an excellent program for academic departments called the
Microsoft Developers Network Academic Alliance (MSDNAA) which allows members
to distribute products to their students at no charge to the student and at
a very small annual fee to the department itself. It may not be of immediate
help to you, but your department really should look into it:

Meanwhile, are there any classrooms or computer labs at your university with
Visual Studio available where you can do your work until you get your own
copy?

Yes there are but I cannot use them when my class in not in session as the
system administrator is a bit of a meanie, And the campus rules state that
too...

I'm very sorry to hear that your university appears to have such "student
hostile" policies. Have you discussed this situation with your professor to
see if she/he can help?
As I teach, I'm always disposed to try to help those students who
communicate their needs to me. Perhaps your professor will do the same.

What will you have to do with Visual Studio.NET?

The .NET-Framework SDK is free of charge and all the compilers are
integrated. Thus, you can write code (in a text editor, maybe with
syntax highlighting) and compile it (just like java).

Another way is to use a free IDE like SharpDevelop. It contains
functions like IntelliSense and AutoComplete (maybe called another way),
and some people say it's even better than VS. So you'll save a lot of money.

I need to use Visual Basic, C#, C++ and J# to make a variety of applications
with VS.NET. I have ordered the demo but are unable to use it as do not have
the net and cannot activate it.

I've made a query on your behalf. Hopefully there will be a better answer to
your activation problem.

I assume you have internet access at your university.
Have you tried here?

The internet here is unreliable, Crashes constantly, Slow - Though it can be
fast if you're the only one using it...

I think gradware.com may have it for less than this. Look around!
