I'm a university student and I can get Visual Studio Standard 2005 for free
through my school. I can also get Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET
2001. However I've always worked with Visual C++ .NET 2003. Is there anyway I
can get a 'downgrade' to C++ .NET 2003?... more >>
Issues with refresh of table adapater

I have a routine that updates a table from input in text boxes on a form. For
the most part it works, but after I update the data that I pull (record
pulled is defined from combo box selection) It does not show the updated data
in the form, unless I restart the app. Is there a built in method ... more >>

my problem is I need to call a subprocedure and use DataTable Compute method
to count and display the number of items priced under $20 it will be taken

Trying to install VS.NET 2003 Academic... I already have Visual Web Develpoer
and Visual Basic Express installed and working fine. When I put in my first
disc for 2003, it says I need prerequisites and then I put in that disc...
hit OK and the disc spins a little and the VS.NET Setup window go... more >>

Recently i installed VB.NET 2003 on XP Profesional (incl. IIS).
The problem now is that, i've received error messages such as cannot create
offline cache & the character name is not valid.

Why not public attributes?

Hi,
almost every book on object oriented programming does tell you, you should
not use any public attributes in a class. Instead you should provide get/set
Methods or properties (in c# for example).
I don't understand, why is it wrong to use public attributes for simple

I have one student who cannot debug his Visual Basic .NET programs.
For every one else, it works just fine. However, he gets the error
"Must be a member of debugger users group."
