Have you contacted the office at your university that distributes software
to students? Both Visual Studio .NET 2003 and Visual Studio 2005 are
available through MSDN subscriptions, including MSDNAA (MSDN Academic
Alliance). It sounds a bit odd that they would distribute older versions
like Visual Studio 6.0 and Visual Studio .NET 2002, but not 2003.
That said, you'll be doing yourself a favor to get Visual Studio 2005 and
get to know it. 2005 is the present and immediate future, and offers
features and conveniences not found in earlier versions. Many VS 2003
projects will convert to VS 2005 with no manual changes required.
